Kasia Kmiec is working with CBI to research a selection of streets in Toronto through a critical lens of what makes them work. Looking at a range of design, cultural, economic and social factors for a cross-section of streets, she will contribute to a report that will celebrate great streets, consider areas of improvement and growth, and offer ways of thinking about our streets as much more than mere transportation corridors.
Kasia is a graduate student in the Masters of Urban Development program at Ryerson University’s School of Urban and Regional Planning. Born and raised in Toronto, she obtained Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Commerce degrees and worked as a commercial real estate lawyer prior to her graduate studies. She is delighted to have the opportunity to meaningfully combine her experiences in law and business with her personal interests in thoughtful city building and placemaking.
