Claire Nelischer has a background in urban planning, design, and civic engagement. From 2016-2017, Claire was an Urban Fellow with the City of Toronto, where she assisted in the development of the City’s first Complete Streets Guidelines. Prior to this, Claire worked with non-profit organizations in Toronto and New York City focused on community development and civic engagement issues, including Jane’s Walk, the Centre for City Ecology, and the Pratt Centre for Community Development. She has contributed writing and research to reports on a range of urban issues and regularly contributes to local planning and design publications.
Claire holds a M.Sc. in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute and a BA (hons.) from Queen’s University.
